This is an on-site position is based in Nashville, TN.

Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacturing with limited supervision by performing the following duties. Provides guidance and leadership to other planners and assists the Materials Manager as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Strong knowledge of MRP / ERP systems including AS/400 and Microsoft D365
  • Reviews MRP reports and manages departmental work orders to meet master production schedule.
  • Ensures that raw material components are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes plant and work center capacities for current and future production schedules to determine labor/material requirements and availability to meet demands.
  • Interfaces with Customer Service, Sales and Marketing and Plant supervision to ensure that plan efficiency and schedule adherence are maintained.
  • Reviews and approves Engineering Changes or new product implementation for feasibility, inventory and capacity impact. Releases material against purchase orders to support production plan and work orders.
  • Maintains item master planning data for MRP or MPS parts. Monitors inventory levels for responsible commodities or product lines.
  • Interfaces with Manufacturing Production, Quality, Engineering, Accounting and other departments as required to support the production plan.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Coordinates maintenance and updates to item master file, as necessary.
  • Prepare production/inventory reports.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Participates in Kaizens and other improvement opportunities.
  • Executes actions necessary in the disposition of non-conforming material including communicating with
  • Engineering, Quality, and the supplier to obtain RMA#s, coordinate the return of material, corrective action,
  • replacement of conforming material and rework/scrap cost reimbursement.
  • Occasional travel to vendor sites is necessary.
Qualifications:

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university)
  • 3-5 related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background / Expert Level on AS/400 ERP and / or Microsoft D365 ERP system

The successful candidate will need to show proven success in managing complex, fast-paced assembly operations.

  • Capabilities/Qualifications: AS/400, Microsoft Word, Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables, Formulas), Lotus Notes, MRPII applications, APICS certification helpful, CPIM helpful.
