Job Title: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Job Type: Part-time
Location: Knoxville Pediatric Dentistry - 10910 Kingston Pike Ste 105, Knoxville, TN 37934
We are seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care
- Perform expanded functions such as placing and finishing composite restorations, placing and removing rubber dams, and taking impressions for study models
- Maintain accurate patient records
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Expanded Functions Dental Assistant program
- Current state certification and license to practice as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental office setting
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
