**SUMMARY**

Drives a multitude of vehicles one of them being a Straight truck from 1.5 to over 4 tons usually up to 10 wheels. Transports materials, merchandise, equipment or workers between various locations such as manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, airports, wholesale and retail establishments or customers.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Operates vehicles in a safe and efficient manner

- Reports any and all infractions to leadership - Loads and unloads truck with or without helpers

- Makes minor mechanical repairs and keeps trucks in good working order

- Provides services that support organizational objectives.

- Ensures that all systems are fully operational and are inspected in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules.

- Prepares cost estimates for vehicle repairs and inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.

- Applies process improvement techniques to include designing solutions to ensure compliance, effectiveness, efficiency of processes and procedures with close collaboration with SMEs.

- Designs metrics to effectively measure quality, effectiveness and to provide quantifiable data for business leaders to use in making organizational decisions. - Ensures work schedules accommodate company/program needs.

- Evaluates and monitors process flow, timeliness of strategies and may develop the means for resolution where necessary.

- Assist in the development of standard reports for ongoing internal customer needs.

- Position requires security clearance as designated by the program.

- Ensures accuracy of logs and other required documentation.

- All other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION REQUIRED**

- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education.

- Class C drivers license

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

- Minimum 5 years experience of which a minimum of 3 years are in a large warehouse setting.

- 5 years experience working in a warehouse environment driving vehicles.

- Clean driving record.

- Ability to understand business needs and translate them to the work environment.

- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships in order to provide information and support.

- Demonstrate support for organizational changes needed to improve effectiveness.

- Ability to make sounds decisions using available information.

- Possesses intermediate Microsoft skills level (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Superior customer service standards with the ability to project a cooperative and professional demeanor when working with a wide range of individuals.

- Follows procedures and drives truck to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area.

- May be required to perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
