Responsibilities:

The Technician Scrub in addition to the duties of a Nursing Assistant performs approved nursing tasks and technical procedures under the direction and supervision of Professional Registered Nurse. Assists in receiving and transporting patients. Participates in the observation of patient conditions and promptly reports changes to the responsible nurse. Responds promptly to the needs of patient, refers patient/family requests or concerns appropriately. Prepares surgical case set up, instruments and supplies; is aware of physician preferences and anticipates needs during surgery. Maintains correct count of sponges, needles and instruments with circulating nurse before, during and prior to closure of surgical site. Prepares surgical suite for surgery, obtains needed equipment and supplies before, during and after procedure. This position is at the Andrus and Dobbs Ferry Pavilions.

Qualifications:

Certified Surgical Technician or certified eligible required. HS Diploma or equivalent required. Current BLS. experience preferred.
