This is an exciting opportunity to join the New Charter Technologies Corporate Accounting organization during the accelerated growth and scale of the Company. We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who will maintain all aspects of the department's full cycle accounting process, including preparing journal entries & variance explanations, performing account reconciliations, following up to resolve issues, and engaging in special projects throughout the month as necessary. Local candidates to Denver, CO.
In this role, you will:
- Own the full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities by ensuring transactions are recorded timely and accurately
- Prepare journal entries for all accounting-related activities (AR, AP, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, intercompany, month-end accruals, etc.)
- Reconcile the general ledger accounts in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures
- Work with Accounting Manager and Controller to research and explain variances to forecast and budget
- Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles
- Drive process improvements and lead exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability, efficiency, and productivity
- Support with year-end audit and schedule requests from external auditors
- Support management with M&A-related projects
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end closing process, and variance analysis
- Solid understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply the concepts to specific situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate-level skills in Excel to perform analysis using pivot and lookup tables
- Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/NetSuite/QuickBooks experience a must
- Positive demeanor, collaborative, and solution-oriented
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a team-based environment
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with senior and executive leaders
