Job Summary:

The Data Analyst is responsible for the abstraction and validation of data. This position understands the meaning of the data and then synthesizes the data for groups and teams to make informed business decisions based on the information delivered. The Data Analyst will complete financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking as required for development of program recommendations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

General Duties and Responsibilities: Abstracts, reports, manages, documents, and tracks data and trends. Supports pharmacy and finance teams and works as a business partner with operational leadership. Understands and communicates financial trends to support forecasting, budget, and monthly variance analysis. Supports complex ad hoc analysis including new services, technology, providers, and drug and supply expense management. Manages projects, audits and data analysis independently with limited supervision. Serves as support to the Quality Services Team; Updates monthly department and provider scorecards using BOE report data. Generates quality reports Runs reports and submits routine data to MNCM, RWHC, NHSN, HIIN, and QualityNet once approved by the Director of Quality Services. Generates monthly reports on events and complaints out of the SafetyZone Portal. Compiles and completes data analyses to drive and support performance improvement work. Mines and analysis of department level data to help leaders to make data driven decisions. Data Analysis Ability to translate data into meaningful information in report or presentation formats Ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis to plan and execute Ability to solve problems and drive issues or projects to conclusion Assist teammates and staff in interpreting complex results

Requirements

Education & Licensure:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, Health Informatics, Statistics, or related field.

Experience

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analytics preferred Knowledgeable of data privacy standards and HIPAA requirements Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication and listening skills Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities Experience with quantitative data analysis Demonstrated ability to clearly present data and results to lay and professional audiences in a variety of settings Familiarity with data collection and electronic health record tools required Familiarity with quality management system principals, risk management and statistical process control, specifically control charting, quality improvement project methodologies Familiarity and/or interest in developing skillset with database schema and querying (ie. Microsoft Business Objects; Microsoft SQL Server; Crystal Reports; web-based data visualization applications such as QlikView) Working knowledge of general statistical methods Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment Sound knowledge of project management principles and tools Exceptional organizational and communication skills Self-motivated, comfortable working independently under general direction

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
