How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Lead Software Architect, you will guide all matters related to the current and future architecture design for our established and industry-leading commercial ASP.Net software applications as well as our complementary Cloud SAAS applications. The ideal candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for secure cloud technology design, secure development, and the commercial implementation of our solutions globally.

Utilizing our existing ASP.Net software code and AWS Cloud architecture, you will lead existing development efforts to extend source code and advance CICD pipelines to efficiently prolong the platform's lifecycle and maximize ROI for the company and its private and public sector customers.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Software Architecture & Design
  • Setting architectural direction for the software services team.
  • Collaborating with Engineering resources to bring technical vision and business objectives together for successful product development.
  • Exhibiting proven expertise of AWS Cloud at an architect level with solutions that are focused on Microservices.
2. Technical Expertise & Teamwork:
  • Providing sound knowledge of the product development lifecycle and process tools.
  • Utilizing proficiency in multiple core development languages (such as C, C#, Javascript) and demonstrating solid knowledge of RDBMS, Web applications and services, and Native application development.
  • Sharing expert knowledge of best practices for software development (CMM, ISO) and SOA, OOAD, UML, .NET, DirectShow, JXON, Restful Services, and/or React.
3. Continuous Improvement:
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the software sales function.
  • Participate in group projects as they relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience
  • At least 15 years' experience in Systems/Software Engineering leading at least two enterprise class applications.
  • Five (5)+ years' experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Three (3)+ years' experience deploying security strategy and implementation, including the deployment of Security Tools within an AWS ecosystem (Conformance Packs, Foundations Benchmarks, Audit Manager, etc.), Network IPS/IDS, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Zero Trust, Security Access and Service Edge (SASE) and Security Frameworks and Methodologies, and Threat Hunting and Modeling.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS architectural solutions within Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience in designing enterprise APIs and working in Linux operating system.
  • Knowledge of traditional security controls (SOC2) and technologies, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems such as Securonix Next Gen, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) such as Securonix Cloud Ingestor, public key infrastructure (PKI), antivirus and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge in SQL and in using an ORM (nHibernate preferably).
  • Familiarity with near real-time data collection (sensor based), GIS systems, Git, NuGet, and Coverity code scanner software is helpful.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (i.e. computer science, engineering, mathematics, etc.). Master's degree in Information Security, a plus.

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Cloud Platform and Infrastructure

Travel & Working Environment
  • 8AM - 5PM Monday - Friday.
  • Hybrid schedule with minimum 3 days in office per week.
