Description
SUMMARY: Coordinates planning and performing all housekeeping activities, tracks supplies and coordinates purchasing of housekeeping supplies. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
Cleaning
- In a culturally competent manner, will provide services to all residents without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, age, sex, religion, and handicap or payment status.
- Abide by the principles of good housekeeping and sanitation practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of all resident quarters, common areas, recreation rooms, storage areas and staff offices.
- Perform laundry services as needed.
- Clean facility daily.
- Maintain equipment in good working order at all times.
- Ensure housekeeping equipment and supplies are ordered as needed.
- Follow and perform the Housekeeper Duties Checklist.
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with Title 22 and all applicable regulations, including facility upkeep.
- Teach interested residents, basic housekeeping and laundry skills.
- Provide support to and assist staff.
- Report any dangerous conditions observed, including medications or weapons in rooms or any dangerous behaviors demonstrated by a resident.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Mandated to report any suspected abuse of dependent adults and elders directly to Law Enforcement, Adult Protective Services, Ombudsman, and Community Care Licensing.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, skill, or ability required to perform the job.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED; or experience may be required.
- Knowledge and conformity to all applicable HIPAA, OSHA, state and local laws, rules and regulations including Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing, Title 22.
- Principles of good housekeeping and sanitation practices.
- Read, speak, write and understand English well enough to follow Title 22 regulations and communications for residents care.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages associated with completing the requirements of the position, if any.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
