Job Summary: As a Virtualization Engineer at Innovatus Technologies, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualized infrastructure solutions using VMware technologies. The successful candidate will have a Top Secret Clearance, ensuring the highest level of security for our clients. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and staying abreast of the latest virtualization trends to enhance our capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation:

    • Architect, deploy, and manage virtualization solutions based on VMware technologies.
    • Develop and implement virtualization strategies to optimize system performance and resource utilization.
    • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate virtualized environments with existing systems.

  2. Maintenance and Support:

    • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to virtualization infrastructure.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, updates, and patches to ensure system stability.
    • Provide on-call support for critical incidents and participate in a rotation schedule.

  3. Security Compliance:

    • Ensure virtualization infrastructure meets and maintains Top Secret Clearance standards.
    • Implement security best practices and conduct regular security assessments.
    • Work closely with security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.

  4. Documentation:

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to virtualization architecture, configurations, and procedures.
    • Train and mentor team members on virtualization best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Top Secret Clearance or higher is mandatory.
  2. Proven experience as a Virtualization Engineer, with a focus on VMware technologies.
  3. Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts, including server and desktop virtualization.
  4. Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
  5. Experience with storage and networking technologies in virtualized environments.
  6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
  2. Experience with other virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, KVM).
  3. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  4. Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
