Primary Purpose Manage transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and IT projects, leading cross?functional teams across multiple disciplines and operating areas, including contract resources. Responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance of multiple projects and programs. Drive the business case, capital approval, project plans and closeout. Projects range from $250K to $15?million, plus business initiative projects with limited resources. Position may require extended hours during storms or emergencies. Primary Duties Responsible and accountable for overall project performance for projects including major transmission, substation, distribution, gas construction, new technology programs, IT and organizational initiatives. (25%) Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including recovery plans to stay within approved limits. (20%) Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements. (15%) Primary communicator with sponsors and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations. (10%) Ensure a good working relationship between the project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations. (10%) Coach and lead team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks. (10%) Identify and obtain project team resources. (5%) Ensure project team members understand their respective responsibilities. (5%) Job Scope The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for budgets, team performance and strategic plans. Responsibilities also include scope, budget and schedule management, business case development, scheduling, requirements engineering, design and engineering tasks, vegetation management reviews, reporting, financial analysis, equipment procurement, environmental analysis, real?estate and vendor relationship management, regulatory interactions, quality assurance and change management. The manager interacts routinely with key internal and external stakeholders, senior management, major customers and regulatory officials. Minimum Qualifications For construction project management: Bachelors degree in engineering or related field and 4?7 years relevant project management experience, OR High School Diploma and 6?9 years experience; For non?construction project management: Bachelors degree in business, engineering or related field and 4?7 years relevant experience, OR High School Diploma and 6?9 years experience Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achievement of CAPM within two years; PMP certification will fulfill this requirement Demonstrated and documented success at managing projects Ability to work independently and as a team leader, handling conflicting priorities in a multi?task environment Strong independent judgment skills Strong interpersonal and time?management skills Valid driver's license and access to an automobile Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in engineering (or advanced technical degree) or Business Administration Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineer License Experience or knowledge of the specific functional area or discipline (e.g., utility design/planning/construction or IT) Benefits Annual salary will vary based on candidates skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $97,600?/?Yr. $134,200?/?Yr.
