Golf Shop Merchandise Attendant

PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Responsible for assisting the Merchandise Manager in the day to day operations of the merchandise office along with providing exceptional customer service to our guests in the golf shops.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Assists Merchandise Manager in tagging merchandise
Works with golf staff to merchandise displays in a creative and functional manner
Greets guests upon entrance of the golf shops
Provides basic information to guests regarding shop merchandise
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
Works with the Merchandise Manager on transferring merchandise for special sales and to keep shops well stocked
Assists Merchandise Manager with inventories as needed
Attends staff meetings as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Able to file, copy, scan, and fax accurately and efficiently

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Three to six months previous retail experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate clearly with vendors, guests, customers, supervisors and fellow employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in order to calculate amounts such as discounts, tax, and correct change.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of guest situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Must be able to use appropriate judgments as it pertains to our guests.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid drivers license as use of a vehicle is needed for driving between shops and transferring merchandise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds. Occasionally, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, crouching and lifting up to 50 pounds are required.

HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be willing to work in a warehouse environment with boxes that are dusty and dirty.
