Woodman's Bar & Grill in Orono is looking for a Bartender to join our team delivering top-notch food, drinks and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Woodman's doesn't hire bartenders often, but we recently had a (great) employee take a full-time teaching job so we have some "big shoes to fill" Initially we'll have 2-3 Bartending shifts available which are paid at $9/hour plus tipsCross-training is a priority at Woodman's, so we'll also train you as a host/reservationist to gain your additional hours. Host/Reservationist hours are paid at $23/hour plus tips.

The "Bartending" responsibilities of this position include:

•Preparing and serving a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks with accuracy and efficiency.

•Engaging with customers to take orders, make recommendations, and ensure an enjoyable experience at the bar.

•Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies and handling cash transactions.

•Collaborate with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure seamless service and timely delivery of orders.

•Adhere to safety and hygiene standards, including responsible alcohols service and proper handling of glassware and ingredients.

• You'll be on the front-end of helping Woodman's to grow our "after dinner" bar business back to its Pre-Covid potential A marketing mindset is a HUGE plus
• You'll be collaborating with the FOH Manager, leadership team and staff on how to improve our guest experience and customer satisfaction.
• You'll be an important member of the Woodman's team as we pursue our goals, and tackle operational improvement projects & tasks.

Our small restaurant "group" also owns the (2) Moe's Original BBQ's in Bangor & South Portland. Our restaurants are dedicated to excellence in food, customer service and employee satisfaction.

We are 2-years into our mission to improve the lives of front-line service industry workers in Maine by paying a true "living wage" and creating sustainable "Good Jobs". Our approach is modeled after MIT Professor Zeynep Ton's book "The Good Jobs Strategy". The book outlines how model retailers (Costco, for example) view employee wages as an investment rather than an expense. We pay higher wages, attract (& keep) great employees and operate more efficiently to become more profitable. We expect our employees to be engaged in the business by helping to improve food quality, customer service and operations.

We are looking for a Bartender that can help us improve our operations, fire up our team, and help grow the business so we can make the investment in our employees pay off. We want to prove to the industry that this model can work
