Stroke Sepsis

The Stroke and Sepsis Outcomes Manager works in collaboration with the Medical Director of the Emergency Department and other organizational leaders to provide oversight of all elements of the stroke and sepsis programs and their outcomes. This position provides planning, organization, and evaluation of patient care within the programs, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and national guidelines for the management of stroke and sepsis. The position supports staff by providing real time, or near real time feedback regarding stroke and sepsis care, to best educate nurses, physicians, and other providers. The Outcomes Manager should also assist with staff educations, work to improve facility stroke and sepsis care, assist in facilitating any accrediting body surveys, and participate on any relevant hospital committees. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education: BSN Required 2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience. Preferably working with stroke/sepsis patients 3. Training/Certification: Specialty certification preferred. Ability to facilitate change and implement quality improvement processes within the program directives. 4. Licensure: NYS Registered Nurse License 5. Other: Experience working with accrediting bodies for certification purposes. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with peers in self-managed teams to meet deadlines. Ability to multi-task and manage time to perform well on both short- and long-term projects.
