Materials Coordinator

The Materials Coordinator is accountable for ensuring the successful scheduling of plant production and assisting in the analysis of long-term production planning. This position is responsible for planning, production scheduling, controlling inventory levels, and working with teams to assure that all customer due dates are met.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain material and inventory control systems.
  • Manage material scheduling in a Just-in-Time (JIT) environment.
  • Support material activities associated with purchasing process and assist in resolving contract management issues impacting material availability.
  • Manage accurate inventory records for all parts within Company’s ERP system.
  • Monitor material flow between suppliers, Company, and the customer to ensure production requirements are met, proactively preventing crisis situations.
  • Analyze part supply to resolve supply errors.
  • Work with Project managers and analyze engineering changes to take appropriate actions to address material planning in support of the product launch/program.
  • Develop and manage inbound and outbound premium freight when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the customer and supplier base.
  • Manage plant teams with Receiving Dock, Shipping Dock, and material storage issues.
  • Assist in development and continuous improvement of plant layouts.
  • Follow safe practices.
  • Champion all local supply chain system processes/documents.
  • Draft and release all documents and approve any proposed changes to the local supply chain processes.
  • Developing, monitoring and implementing the team’s annual goals through its ongoing continuous improvement activities.
  • Providing Materials support and expertise.
  • Manage and confirm customer incoming EDI and manual releases.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA Required
  • 5+ Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems
  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment background check.
