In addition to serving as a key front-line relationship manager with prospects and donors, this position will ensure that within KZCF planned giving is understood, integrated across the organization, and celebrated. The Estate & Planned Gift Advisor will oversee the stewardship of existing planned giving donors while simultaneously expanding the planned giving pipeline. This position will work closely with the Director of Development and the Senior Philanthropic Services Advisor. Essential Functions & Responsibilities : Business Development & Relationship Management Recommend planned giving strategies to grow planned gift commitments. Identify, connect with, and cultivate planned giving prospects, including existing fund holders, individual donors, and others to create opportunities for new planned giving discussions. Leverage key leadership team members, including the CEOregularly for planned giving cultivation and solicitations. Develop and maintain relationships with professional advisors as key referral sources and partners for planned giving and other opportunities. Follow up on every lead promptly. Speak to community groups and professional advisors to drive referral business to KZCF. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing planned gift donors, providing personalized stewardship to ensure ongoing donor engagement and commitment. Meet with donors to create, review, and update current charitable plans ensuring they properly reflect donor wishes & legacy goals. Educate and inform prospects and donors on legal, accounting, and investment issues related to charitable giving vehicles. Integrate planned giving initiatives with overall fundraising goals. Monitor and analyze performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success. In coordination with Finance & Philanthropic Services & Development (PSD) team, ensure appropriate documentation that donors wishes are maintained and best practices in record keeping implemented. Advise the Strategy & Communications team on communications vehicles to educate prospects, current donors, and professional advisors about KZCF planned giving options, including website content, marketing collateral, direct mail, and advertising.Plan, track and report on activities with prospects. Manage processes and procedures to integrate planned givinginto the asset development efforts of the team, including but not limited to data tracking, dashboards, information sharing, and cross-selling. Experience working in Customer Relationship Management software. Proven success in developing and executing comprehensive planned giving strategies. Strong relationship-building skills and experience stewarding high-level donors. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact, communicate, and collaborate with people from all cultural backgrounds. Must have the ability, judgement, poise, and personal capabilities to build and maintain trust. Deep personal commitment to addressing racism with an orientation toward the Kalamazoo community. Ability to work both independently, as a team member, and with a broad range of constituencies. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure. Preferred: Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or Chartered Advisor of Philanthropy (CAP) Preferred.
