ResponsibilitiesMajor Responsibilities:This skilled trade position has primary responsibilities to set up and operate conventional and special purpose lathes, mills and grinding machines within the Maintenance Department.Essential Functions: Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, etc. to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth/angle of cuts); input/edit computer programs; operate/observe machine in operation, detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments to machine parts according to quality specifications. Perform routine maintenance on machines as required. Confer with Engineers, Production personnel, Programmers, etc. to resolve machining or assembly issues. Must be able to bring projects to completion with minimal supervision. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:Associate degree from two-year college or technical school or 4 to 6 years related work experience and/or training. Journeyman's papers or State Certification desired. Additional Requirements: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to develop practical solutions and problem solve. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Problem analysis and problem resolution skills. Must be able to work well with peers and superiors in all departments of the Company. Must adhere to all Company policies.
