About the Role: We are looking for a Machinist with mechanical skills to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for any machining along performing preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, evaluating e f fectiveness (content and frequency) and making necessary changes following our quality system guidelines. Standard working hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities:
  • Foster and maintain a positive and safe working environment
  • T roubleshoot, repair and install manufacturing equipment utilizing drawings, manuals, equipment histor y , and tools as required
  • W ork with manufacturing associates, engineers, consultants and contractors on systems design and equipment reliability improvements
  • Support continuous improvement activities and our culture of quality
  • Guide and evaluate contractor services as needed
  • Commit to continuous personal development aligned with current commitments and business goals
  • On call coverage required as needed
  • Organize and prioritize your work
  • Basic electrical skills, understanding of facilities equipment that supports manufacturing, and basic to intermediate level fabrications and machining
Required Qualifications:
  • Journey level skills demonstrated by a minimum of 6 years experience in an industrial production facilit y , coupled with additional formal training
  • Machining (programing, fabrication and repair) skills, familiarity with shop equipment (Both CNC & Manual Lathes, Mills, Drill press etc.)
  • Solid understanding of pneumatics/hydraulics systems
  • Basic understanding of OSHA, NEC, NF P A codes, and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Desktop computer skills, coupled with basic understanding of networking and operating systems
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work from drawings and follow written procedures, and ability to use AutoCAD/Solidworks
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, including the regular/daily use of full cleanroom suit (coveralls, head cove r , shoe covers, beard cover as needed), and ability to lift and carry 35 lbs
  • Ability to adjust work hours to meet business needs, including working overtime/weekends
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a rapidly changing environment, and ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to travel 5%
Desired Qualifications:
  • Computerized Maintenance Management system experience
  • W eb handling experience and PLC Exposure
  • Competent welding and fabrication skills (mig, tig. stick)


This role requires pre-hire medical clearance by Gore which may include testing to assess visual acuity and/or the ability to wear specific safety equipment as required during the performance of the role.
