MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Associate Director, Alliance Management leads the ongoing business relationship with various alliance partners including complex high-priority collaborations with other companies, academic institutions, and research organizations. They assist in driving the Alliance Management strategy for Immunocore and the development of alliance management capabilities across the organization They work closely with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Research & Development, Business Development, Legal, and Global Product Teams to ensure the successful execution of our alliance strategy. This role reports to the VP, Portfolio and Program Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders both internally and in partner organizations to ensure successful collaboration and alignment of objectives • Engages with stakeholders to identify and develop new alliance opportunities and ensure successful negotiation and execution of alliance agreements • Develops and implements alliance management plans that include governance structure, decision-making processes, and communication protocols • Monitors and manages the performance of alliances, including tracking progress against goals and identifying opportunities for improvement • Manages conflicts and resolves issues that arise during the alliance • Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to alliances and partnerships • Leads the alliance management function and establishes best practices for managing and optimizing strategic partnerships • Stays abreast of internal and external developments, trends, and dynamics; identifies new, enhanced, or revised capabilities as appropriate • Leads the development of internal tools, system, processes, and standard methodologies for the smooth operation of the alliance management function • Provides regular updates and reports to senior management and appropriate governance on the status of alliances and partnerships • On-boards and trains internal team members onto new or existing alliances

Contributes to developing business relationships with existing and potential alliance partners: • Actively engages BD and R&D stakeholders to provide input and influence potential new partnerships by balancing risks and opportunities, establishing effective governance structures and ensuring strategies and processes to improve the potential value and operational success of collaborations • Sets specific and measurable performance objectives, standards, and accountabilities for each assigned collaboration – ensuring the vision, goals and objectives of the alliance are aligned and communicated between the collaborators • Develops strong working relationships with key parties for each program – internally and externally; strives to proactively anticipate and address business-related needs of the parties to optimize joint program team success

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience & knowledge

Essential

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience with at least 3 or more years’ work experience in global alliance management or related field in the biopharmaceutical industry • Strong understanding of drug development and commercialization processes • Experience managing complex partnerships and alliances with other companies, academic institutions, and research organizations • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, partners, and cross-functional teams • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate a team • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and analyse complex financial and commercial data • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines

Education & qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or relevant field • MBA, other graduate-level degree, or CA-AM certification is a plus
