Job Title: Senior Manager or Associate Director - Technical Accounting/SEC Reporting.

Location: Watertown, MA (Hybrid schedule (1-2 days in the office per week but can be flexible on this)

Info on job: Role will be responsible for owning the SEC reporting function, 10K, 10Q preparation as well as technical accounting but will also get involved in the day to day operational GL accounting. Senior Manager/Associate Director - Technical Accounting/SEC Reporting

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance & Controller assist with SEC Reporting and drafting of 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, S-8 and other filings as required
  • Conduct research on complex transactions and accounting pronouncements and draft Technical Memos to implement the impacts on the financial statements
  • Assist in communicating to key stakeholders, the impacts of new or proposed accounting interpretations, pronouncements or other technical literature
  • Maintain quarterly reporting timetable and monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones
  • Ensure and document compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and regulations relating to US GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Draft and update accounting policies, as needed
  • Matching disclosures with appropriate supporting schedules, and recording and storing internal approvals for SEC filings
  • Ensures compliance with XBRL reporting with industry-standard and regulatory-compliant tagging
  • Reviews SOC1 reports, map related system controls, and update review memos
  • Manages and completes accounting for prepaids, fixed assets, AP accruals and credit card program, and other areas as required

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business; Masters degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - required.
  • 4-5+ years of experience in public accounting, or a public/industry accounting mix, with technical accounting and public company reporting experience
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, including US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
  • Strong inter-personal, oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in an agile and team-oriented matrix environment, communicating with colleagues across functions and disciplines.
