What Youll Get to Do: As a Project Systems Engineer at Coda Solutions, you will work in a collaborative environment to influence and guide the design of a pressurized lunar rover to ferry astronauts across the lunar surface. You will collaborate with an internationally diverse systems engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in guiding the technical direction and integration of the rover from inception through certification. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities that evolve with the project lifecycle, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and integration across various disciplines, ensuring cohesive team operations and project success.
  • Lead technical teams in planning and executing design analysis cycles and trade studies.
  • Develop and manage systems engineering processes tailored to project needs.
  • Participate in the creation and management of system architectures, functional flows, and technical baselines.
  • Engage in critical path and technical risk management, as well as configuration and data management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plan and lead major project reviews, internal reviews, test campaigns, and certification processes.
  • Coordinate and manage test and verification processes, emphasizing environmental, human in the loop, and interface testing.
  • Coordination and management of qualification and acceptance test requirement definition, assessment, and flow-down from system to unit (component) level
  • Support hardware owners in establishing overall hardware qualification and acceptance test planning to meet applicable requirements
  • Test and verification leadership with emphasis on environmental, human in the loop, and interface testing

Youll Bring These Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field. Higher degrees are valued.
  • Minimum 10 years (proven) NASA or Department of Defense (DOD) experience in delivering flight hardware and systems engineering activities at the project or program level. More experience is highly valued.
  • Test campaign planning and execution experience.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with both domestic and international teams.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • SharePoint experience.
  • Experience with international collaboration, especially the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA)
  • Proficiency with Doors and MagicDraw tools.
  • Familiarity with NASA-JSC systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of the Japanese language or culture is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability for periodic evening meetings to accommodate international partners in other time zones (6-8PM Central time is typical. Optional remote tie-in from home is acceptable for these meetings.)
  • Potential for occasional international travel to Japan. (less than 10% estimated)
  • Colocation with the project team at JSC is necessary.
  • Office of Government Ethics Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, may be required.
