Do you have a strong foundation in music theory, psychology, and child-centered therapeutic techniques? If so, you'll be equipped to design impactful interventions that truly make a difference.Building supportive relationships is key-we are seeking an individual who posesses interpersonal skills and empathy shine when working with children, adolescents, or even adults facing mental health challenges, developmental delays, or behavioral difficulties.Key Responsibilities :Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs through their musical responses.Develop individualized treatment plans using music therapy interventions to help clients achieve therapeutic goals.Implement therapeutic interventions such as singing, playing instruments, songwriting, and music listening to address a range of client needs.Maintain thorough documentation of client progress, therapy sessions, and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.Provide emotional support and education to clients and their families throughout the therapeutic process.Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and modify approaches as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.Adhere to the ethical standards and professional guidelines set forth by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Therapy from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)-approved program.Current board certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).State licensure as a Music Therapist in Georgia (or eligibility to obtain licensure).Completion of a 1,200-hour clinical internship in an approved program.Commitment to continuing education and maintaining board certification (100 hours every 5 years).If you are knowledgeable about growth and developmental principles across the lifespan, with the ability to assess and interpret relevant data to guide treatment strategies and thrive in a fast-paced setting, demonstrating resilience, flexibility, and organizational excellence while always prioritizing patient care, this could be the perfect fit for you.
