The communicator will play a key role in planning and creating communications that help team members and external audiences understand BJ’s strategic priorities, purpose, transformation initiatives and company news. The communicator is a strong creative thinker and visionary with expertise in finding and telling outstanding stories from our 34,000 team members across the company. Working from our headquarters in Marlborough, MA, you’ll collaborate closely with operations and HR leaders, field teams and other internal stakeholders to plan, design and produce a wide range of multimedia content for corporate communications, positioning BJ’s as a magnet for world-class talent. This role reports to the Director of Internal Communications.Major tasks, responsibilities and key accountabilities: Work closely with the corporate communications team to develop 360 communications plans for internal and external audiences

Develop and execute communications strategies that strengthen BJ’s narrative through team member stories, key business results and major company news and happenings

Collaborate and provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and build executive communications plans to advance strategic priorities through communication

Play a key role in developing, designing and managing a wide range of creative content for our corporate communications platforms, including digital signage, intranet stories, digital newsletters, emails, executive presentations, social media posts, company-wide meetings and events

Maintain high quality standards for all corporate materials, proofreading with a powerful eye for style, grammar consistency and branding to deliver a consistent narrative to internal and external audiences

Qualifications: 7 - 10 + years of experience in writing, journalism, corporate communications, public relations or internal communications in a highly productive creative in-house studio or agency

Strong writing, editing and proofreading capabilities are a must

Experience providing communications support for senior leaders and strong executive presence

Video editing and graphic design capabilities a plus

Issues management and crisis communications experience a plus

Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

A team player who can prioritize and handle multiple deliverables simultaneously

Strong attention to detail related to communication, design and production of projects

Examples of professional writing, storytelling and copyediting requested

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $122,500.00.
