Description

JOB FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and/or group instruction.
  • Develop and teach skills and knowledge relating to diesel mechanics.
  • Maintain proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good rapport between employees and others involved in the learning processes.
  • Evaluate apprentice progress, keep appropriate records, and effectively communicate progress with apprentices and executive management.
  • Perform basic attendance reporting duties.
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in professional growth activities as well as those available through OEMs utilized by Progressive Tractor and Implement.
  • Develop and communicate curricular and instructional plans and objectives to apprentices including course descriptions, performance expectations, and other pertinent information.
  • Maintain surveillance over storage and use of company-owned materials, equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse.
  • Instruct apprentices in the importance of accuracy, individual resourcefulness, and good work habits.
  • Participate in ordering of shop materials, supplies, and parts required, working under established budget and procedures.
  • Promote the program by recruiting throughout the community.
  • Attend professional meetings requested by executive management.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure apprentices are not left unsupervised.
  • Display the use of good judgement in making decisions.
  • Maintain reliable, punctual, and regular attendance.
  • Create a positive classroom/shop instructional environment.
MARGINAL
  • Practices safely and competently within job description.
  • Any other functions specified by executive management.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and after hours.
  • Must be able to travel when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education or relevant field.
  • 2+ years teaching in a classroom.
  • Previous agriculture and construction experience preferred but not required.
  • Maturity and ability to deal effectively with demands of the job.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills
  • Answer emails, work within business software system.
  • Good physical and emotional health.
  • Must show proof of valid driver's license and approved Motor Vehicles Record.
  • Must be able to perform all aspects of the position unassisted.
  • Installation of company communication application on cellular device.
