**Description**

Prepares and serves meals according to cycle menus, monitors methods of food handling, preparation, meal service and equipment cleaning. Functions in the decision making capacity and leadership role under the guidance of the Dietary Manager. Directs and/or provides professional preparation of meals for inpatients across the age continuum as needed to facilitate the delivery of services. Utilizes the food service process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide dietary services. Provides direct supervision, leadership and guidance to members the staff; and may be authorized, in the absence of the Dietary Manager, to make decisions affecting the Dietary Department.
