Job Description

Position Description:

•Monitor the performance of reports and dashboards and take corrective action to perfect and improve dashboard performance, as necessary.

•Collaborate with BI Team and others to help troubleshoot issues with Tableau dashboards, and aid with design and data development issues.

•Work closely and collaboratively with end users, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure best practices are being used, proper training is being offered and issues and questions are being answered promptly.

•Run cleanup and create Tableau Server backups. Enforce Tableau Server Security Policies.

•Partner with the infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve network/Windows server-related issues.

•Serve as backup Server Administrator to install and deploy new versions of Tableau software across all lifecycle environments.

•Create/Change/Manage Tableau Server Task Schedules. Monitor Tableau Server activity/usage statistics to find possible performance issues/enhancements.

•All other duties as assigned or directed.

Basic Qualifications

•7+ years with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

•8+ years of proven design and development skills using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.

•3+ years of proven installation, configuration, and administrative support of Tableau 2019.1 or above.

•Must be able to obtain and keep a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

Required Skills

•Firsthand experience with Tableau Server configuration and maintenance of projects, group security, and permissions.

•Firsthand experience installing and deploying new versions of Tableau software across all lifecycle environments.

•Experience building complex reports, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations using Tableau.

•Experience in the creation and use of visualizations and conducting data analysis. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively are needed.

•Thorough understanding of data warehouse techniques (dimensional models and aggregation techniques).

•IT customer service experience providing user support including providing technical support/resolutions and direction on non-technical aspects of the software use.

•Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical/business stakeholders and conversely, communicate business information to a technical audience.

•Experience in adapting to changing environments. Candidate must be willing to exercise patience and be able to adapt and respond to rapidly changing priorities while keeping a respectful and cheerful outlook with team members and stakeholders.

•Experience in conducting training sessions or easing business presentations such as user groups.

•Possess the ability to drive insights into actions that improve the team's service delivery or user experience.

•Excellent communication and written skills

Desired Skills

•Working knowledge of Tableau Prep.

•Experience writing advanced SQL queries and designing data models in Greenplum, Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and DB2.

•Experience in requirement elicitation and documentation.

•Experience conducting validation and/or user acceptance testing.
