The Marketing Specialist supports Hackensack Meridian Health's marketing initiatives. This includes, assisting in developing and implementing strategies to grow volume and reputation of key programs. This position writes and edits marketing communication materials across distribution channels; supports marketing efforts through market research, campaigns and events; implements social networking and new media strategies in conjunction with the web team to generate leads and grow the business; and communicates and implements HMH branding strategy. This position actively participates in the development of marketing plans that differentiate services to key physician, consumer and patient audiences.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Marketing Specialist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Participates in planning discussions and strategy sessions with physicians and department leaders to identify growth goals.
  • Assists in developing messaging and key points of differentiation and package them into content and appropriate distribution channels.
  • Implements plans including print and digital communications to key audiences, including physicians, patients and consumers.
  • Monitors success by reporting on digital volume and engagement, programmatic volume, and metrics available through operational leadership.
  • Develops and tracks progress on business unit goals, department priorities and organizational milestones.
  • Provides competitive research to help determine ways business units can differentiate physicians, programs and services.
  • Reports out on marketing activities and milestones that are part of growth plans.
  • Analyzes marketplace trends and looks for opportunities in messaging for successful campaign implementation in advertising, website content, social media engagement, physician communications, team members and key influencers.
  • Collaborates with the social media team on content strategies, editorial planning and messaging. Drafts content and positioning to support online reputation.
  • Writes original content for a variety of marketing communication materials including digital campaigns, brochures, sell sheets, case studies, advertising, web sites, newsletters, voiceover scripts and white papers.
  • Assists in ongoing market research and focus groups by providing analysis of volume reports from business units, web analytics, competitive research, demographic segments and market planning platforms.
  • Coordinates and supports branding, standards, and tactics for growth programs by supporting successful implementation of brand guidelines by packaging materials and collaborating with business units on tailoring content for the appropriate print and digital distribution channel.
  • Writes content and works with the creative team on appropriate images, tone, style and packaging into final products.
  • Participates in planning and creative brainstorming sessions to generate campaign themes and concepts.
  • Interacts with graphic designers to ensure project timelines and campaign objectives are met.
  • Other duties and/or assignments as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, business or other related areas of specialty.
  • Minimum 1 or more year(s) of experience.
  • Strong copy editing skills.
  • Must display a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and innovation.
  • Strong analytic and research skills.
  • Strong time-management, organization, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in making decisions that support the mission, vision, goal and values of Hackensack Meridian Health.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience in the healthcare setting.
  • Experience in a large business, and/or one that is composed of multiple locations.
