Title: Highway Desig Project Engineer

Interview process: 1-2 rounds interview with screening call

Pay: 60/hr - 130-150k

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8-5pm

Contract to hire

Must haves:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 7-10 years in geotechnical engineering.
  • Proven experience in technical or project management roles within a professional services firm.
  • PE or PG (Professional Engineer) in California or the ability to obtain within 4 months

Plus:

  • Familiarity with InRoads, ORD and other relevant software packages.
  • Experience supporting Delaware DOT.
  • Experience with MicroStation ORD.

Day to day:

Insight Global is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer in Northern California to support a large Engineering Firm. As a Geotechnical Engineer, youll play a crucial role in analyzing soil, rock, groundwater, and other earth materials before major construction projects. Your expertise will help determine suitable materials for foundations, overall design, and safety measures. Lets delve into the specifics:

Responsibilities

Site Investigation and Data Collection:

  • Gather data through boreholes, test pits, and field tests.
  • Analyze findings using specialized software.

Risk Assessment:

  • Evaluate geological hazards and identify factors affecting engineering works.
  • Ensure proper risk management.

Design and Advice:

  • Plan and design structures for buildings, roads, embankments, canals, and other projects.
  • Provide advice to civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction personnel.

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead complex projects with strong analytical skills.
  • Specialize in soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, deep foundation design, soil improvement techniques, and pavement design.

Client Interaction:

  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Participate in proposal preparation, project scheduling, and deadline management.

Team Development:

  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Direct multi-functional teams.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Leadership in proposal preparation and project scheduling.
  • Ability to manage project budgets and ensure quality.
  • Familiarity with Northern California projects.
  • Capability to bring personal client relationships to the organization.

Compensation:

$60/hr to $66/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
