The Vice President of Global Transportation is a critical member of the Operations leadership team and owner of the global transportation strategies for Domestic and International Parcel, LTL, FTL, Ocean, Air, Drayage, and Customs. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will ensure capacity, improve cost structures, and drive end-to-end efficiency of shipping processes and minimize accessorial and damage costs.

The VP, Global Transportation will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enable growth, building a scalable network. The VP, Global Transportation will leverage a relentless desire to win and drive continuous improvement ethos that seeks the best solution in order to deliver the world-class results that embody the mission, vision, and values of Global Industrial, most importantly accelerating our customer experience.

In the role you will be responsibilities for:and maintaining relationships with partner providers, including shippers and drayage providers.and executing Domestic and International Parcel, LTL, FTL, Ocean, Air, Drayage, Customs, and Talent strategies in alignment with forecasts, network distribution strategies, and growth plan.contracts, partnering with the legal department.capacity is in alignment with requirements for lowest possible cost.quarterly business reviews with all 3rd party providers.and deliver against key metrics for global transportation.supply chain visibility through tools and systemsaccountable for global transportation spend, processes, initiatives, and results.global standardization to eliminate inefficiencies were possible.teams to forecast volume and oversee provider performance managementand maintaining global Trade that ensures efficient compliance.

The Ideal CandidateIs a domestic transportation and ocean freight expert with leadership experience in organizations known for world-class supply chain capabilities. This leader must be a proactive, action-oriented leader with the ability to quickly solve complex problems. Most importantly, this individual must balance the strategic and hands-on requirements of this position with a flexible working style and a proven ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders.

Your Value PropositionDemonstrated functional knowledge and experience in successfully running all aspects of global transportation.Experience in developing a strategic plan for transportation that aligns with the corporate strategies and the ability to clearly articulate such a vision.Successful track record building networks and implementing processes for a rapidly growing company.Experience and understanding of global supply chain dynamics and considerations.Experience negotiating contracts; Procurement experience is a plus.Proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve specific strategic results that are relevant to the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to develop, measure and improve key performance indicators.Experience with Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods regulations and compliance.Successful track record in working with and through 3rd party logistics providers to drive operational improvement/efficiency and reduce cost.An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a dynamic, fun, fast-paced environment.A team oriented and collaborative approach. Proven results building effective long-term relationships at all levels, internally and externally, and go the extra mile for customers.Communicate transparently – listen actively and speak respectfully.

Educational Background:Academic credentials should include an undergraduate degree from a respected college / university, ideally in a discipline relevant to transportation or logistics, such as Supply Chain Management or Engineering, is required.
