Mill Controller

West Fraser is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Financial Mill Controller to be based at our Angelina Lumber Mill, in Lufkin, Texas.

The Mill Controller will report to the Mill Manager and is a key part of mill management providing analytical support for all financial decisions.

The Mill Controller is responsible for all financial reporting, monthly closing, budget preparation, forecasting, inventory analysis, daily problem solving, and other duties as assigned.

What you will do:

• Learn and develop a strong understanding of the various aspects of the mill to provide insight into areas of improvement and accounting processes.
• Support the timely and accurate reporting of financial, operational, and statistical data.
• Develop and maintain reporting of financial and non-financial key performance indicators.
• Support West Fraser accounting activities including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Manage month-end close process and reporting, general ledger reconciliations, account analyses, etc.
• Maintain adequate internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and SOX.
• Weekly cost reporting and forecasting
• Inventory control and analysis.
• Ad-hoc assignments from mill management or other projects as assigned.

• 4-year bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance
• 3+ years' experience; preferable in a manufacturing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced user Excel skills
• Experience in Oracle financial system is a plus.
• Experience with SOX is preferred.

• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing
• A highly motivated and self-starter with the initiative to learn and grow.
• High attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Must be flexible and be able to adjust to changing workloads and tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interface effectively with local team and corporate support teams.
