About Twistient Corp.

Twistient Corp. is an early-stage startup pioneering the development of neuromorphic computing technologies and commercializing recent advancements in twistronics and 2D material devices. Our mission is to pioneer a new computing architecture paradigm designed for the artificial intelligence era. Our primary focus is creating brain-inspired, biorealistic computing systems that are energy-efficient, scalable, and capable of learning and adapting in real-time. We are a team of passionate innovators, researchers, and engineers committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible with neuromorphic computing.

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Materials Engineer to join our team and lead the fabrication and testing of neuromorphic devices and arrays. In this role, you will work closely with our Systems Engineer to develop and optimize the fabrication process, characterize device performance, and integrate these devices into neuromorphic testbeds. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities, contribute to the development of a groundbreaking technology that has the potential to transform computing as we know it, and pave the way for artificial intelligence that benefits all human beings.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out the fabrication of neuromorphic devices and arrays using the IEN facilities at Georgia Tech, following our established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform device characterization, process optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality and reproducible devices.
  • Develop and maintain characterization scripts, data analysis tools, and fabrication process documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Neuromorphic Systems Engineer to integrate devices into neuromorphic testbeds and demonstrate their functionality.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property (IP) and the publication of scientific papers and patents.

What We're Looking For

  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a strong background in nanofabrication and characterization of 2D materials and devices.
  • Hands-on experience with cleanroom fabrication processes, such as EBL, thin film deposition, and dry transfer of 2D materials.
  • Familiarity with twistronics and van der Waals heterostructures is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages for data analysis and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers and researchers.

Work Schedule and Environment

At Twistient Corp., we understand the importance of balancing work with academic and research commitments. If you have the talent, passion, and drive to contribute to our mission but require a non-traditional work arrangement, we encourage you to apply and discuss your needs with us.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package with a significant equity component
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (pending company growth and funding)
  • Flexible work hours and vacation policy
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
  • A dynamic and inclusive startup culture that values innovation, creativity, and collaboration

We are a lean and agile startup team passionate about revolutionizing the field of neuromorphic computing. As an early employee, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the direction of our technology and make a significant impact on the future of AI. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are excited about the challenges and rewards of building something groundbreaking from the ground up.

This role is ideal for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, take ownership of their work, and adapt to the ever-changing needs of a startup. In return, you will have the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies, learn from a talented and supportive team, and grow your skills and career in ways that may not be possible in a more traditional setting. If you are a self-starter with a passion for innovation and a desire to make a real difference, we encourage you to apply and join us on this exciting journey.
