Description

Under general supervision, the Administrative Analyst's primary function is to interact and coordinate with command level police managers, city departments, and other criminal justice agencies to develop, introduce, and assist with the implementation or oversight of new or revised departmental plans, programs, policies, and procedures. This position is responsible for diversified and complex analyses of police programs and operations. This position analyzes, coordinates, and prepares budget research and analysis, as well as a wide variety of administrative support services in the Police Department.

Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

Examples of Duties

* Manage department policy to include policy revisions, managing policy meetings, and releasing updates on PowerDMS.* Manage PowerDMS, to include user management and releasing any documents, training, or surveys.* Participate in the Police Department's grant development and management processes.* Complete any needs analysis, to include preparation of annual reports and annual analysis for the department, as needed.* Generate monthly snapshot data.* Facilitate and maintain updates to the annual strategic plan and serve as project manager for new projects.* Provide crime data, as needed, for department operations and deployment support.* Prepare monthly and annual National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) reports and other statistical reports.* Negotiate and manage agreements with other departments or agencies contracting for services or coordinating activity toward common purposes.

Experience and Training

* Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Government, or a related field.* Five (5) years of directly related work experience, two (2) of which were in a management or supervisory capacity.* A Master's degree in Public Administration or related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Certificates and Licenses Required

* Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
