Summary of Position

The Credit Specialist reports to the RCM Cash Application Supervisor and is responsible for timely response and resolution of refund requests. This individual must comply with applicable laws regarding billing standards and be able to operate in a team-oriented environment that strives to provide superior service to Teladoc Health clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and response ownership for high-volume refund requests via portal, emails, and phone calls
  • Detailed review and evaluation of insurance payer EOBs to validate refunds due
  • Refund processing via merchant terminal and PayPal
  • Manual reconciliation and balancing of processed refunds in patient accounts within practice management system
  • Identify appropriate escalation points and work with the Supervisor to resolve issues
  • Must meet production and quality standards
  • Must meet project and daily assignment deadlines
  • Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Teladoc Health's Policies and Procedures

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in EOB language and cash posting
  • 2 years of experience in a patient-facing customer service position
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance billing and documentation guidelines
  • MS Office proficiency, especially Excel
  • NextGen Enterprise and Altera experience preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills focused on identifying and implementing solutions
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multitask and handle competing priorities
  • Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly and adapt to process changes
  • Record of accomplishment in meeting high-level productivity targets, ability to effectively manage time and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary range for this position is $20.00-22.00 per hour. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
