Grind Operator 1st Shift - Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Essential Job Duties:
- Operate machine(s) assigned after set-up by area supervisor, lead person and/or set-up person.
- Obtain necessary wheels fixtures, and collets fixtures under guidance of supervision.
- Make major adjustments as allowed to produce parts in accordance with tolerances and requirements as called for on production sketches.
- Assist lead person, set-up person or others in set-ups as required.
- Required to perform certain set-ups under the supervision of the area supervisor, lead person, and/or set-up person; change and/or dress wheels as required under the direction of supervision.
- Inspect parts as produced to assure compliance with requirements using micrometers, verniers, gages, fixtures and/or other measuring equipment.
- Report any problems, difficulties, or unusual circumstances immediately to supervision.
- Responsible for production, both quality and quantity.
- Responsible for exercising good machining practices at all times.
- Maintain accurate production cards, records or other data as required.
- Observe all company policies, rules and regulations including good housekeeping, safety, and security.
- Perform duties as required, assigned or directed.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to learn how to read and follow basic prints and GD&T
- Follows all safety requirements including use of PPE when required
- Understanding and ability to use various inputs from different sources
- Understanding of broad scope manufacturing processes of the company
