Sales Manager- Missouri Market

The
Sales Manager
is responsible for achieving sales goals by engaging and building external accounts through our seafood and gourmet foods portfolios. The position requires insightful analysis into customers’ needs and developing strategies to meet them. The incumbent will also exhibit a fundamental understanding of financial management, including the ability to increase revenue and gross margin profit.
Responsibilities:
Exhibit ability to connect with customers to identity and satisfy their needs.
Leverage industry experience and product knowledge to provide appropriate recommendations, with the goal of delivering maximum value to customers.
Anticipate market trends and present new products to customers in a progressive and effective manner.
Perform market and customer research to keep abreast of developments within the gourmet food product space.
Maintain focus on financial measures including achieving revenue targets and gross margin objectives.
Work with operations and other internal departments to deliver top service to customers.
Assist customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting information for appropriate alternatives.
Exhibit independent desire to develop and maintain ongoing product and industry knowledge.
Maintain positive working relationships with multiple vendors spanning wide-ranging geographical area.
Communicate with employees to identify and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve customer service and operations.
Effectively manage time and organize workflow to meet deadlines.
Work with Senior Sales to identify sale trends and prospects - adjust if needed.
Exhibit ability to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Requirements:
Education: Culinary, associate or bachelor’s degree in a food related area or equivalent.
Experience: Two to three years of accounts management experience, preferably working with seafood and gourmet food products.
Work ethic: A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
Technical: Exhibit competence working with Microsoft Office suite.
A combination of the above will also be considered.
