The Ferguson Florissant School District is seeking outstanding educator for the position of Elementary School Principal for Central Elementary School. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead, develop, and implement the Building School Improvement Plan
  • Analyze data in the areas of student achievement, student discipline, student attendance and all areas evaluated under MSIP 6
  • Communicate effectively with all publics
  • Provide effective instructional and curricular leadership to increase student achievement
  • Provide supervision and management of the instructional program
  • Effectively evaluate staff
  • Provide ongoing, meaningful professional development for staff
  • Select and assign personnel to meet school and district goals
  • Articulate the vision of the instructional program to students, faculty and community
  • Promote and maintain a positive school climate to facilitate teaching and learning, discipline, morale and attendance
  • Provide supports necessary to ensure the success of all students
  • Facilitate the building parent involvement program
  • Provide effective day-to-day operation of the organization
  • Provide efficient and effective allocation of resources to meet building and District needs
  • Communicate with parents and mediate concerns
  • Serve on building and District level committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's Degree and valid Missouri Administrative Certification
  • Current knowledge of effective instructional practices
  • Knowledge or experience in the use of performance-based evaluation to improve instruction
  • Commitment to insuring that all students achieve at high levels
  • Proven instructional leadership ability
  • Management skills and ability in planning, organization, task completion and decision-making
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Must have commitment to the individual worth, dignity, potential and success of each child
  • Ability to work with, and contribute to, building a high-energy team
  • Experience with school improvement and change processes
  • Experience in data-driven decision making
  • At least 3 years of administrative experienced preferred


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Assigned to 260 day work calendar; 8 hours per day vary; compensation and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) as provided by the Board of Education.
