ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Structural Bridge Engineer | Orlando, FL | Tampa, FL | Hybrid VHB is in search of a

Senior Structural Bridge Engineer

to join the established and growing Structures group in our FL offices. Joining our team means becoming a part of a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking environment where we lead the industry with cutting-edge model-based bridge design. Join us and be part of delivering interesting and challenging bridge projects in Florida, Georgia, and throughout our footprint along the east coast of the US. In this position, you would serve in a lead technical role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects - from highway to pedestrian to rail - as well as mentor our structural team. The ideal candidate should possess a "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment. Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation packages Provide technical support/mentorship to structural engineering staff Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc. Assist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals

and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling Provide project management support Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews Skills & Abilities Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality Must possess strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking Strong organizational and time management skills Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing is essential Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff Model-based design experience Project management skills Minimum Qualifications: 5-8 years of structural bridge design experience (LRFD) B.S. in Civil Engineering required; emphasis in Structures preferred PE license required Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO, FDOT, local municipalities/counties, and other state DOTs Strong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software (i.e. Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.) Model-based design experience is a strong plus: Bentley OpenBridge and OpenRoads AutoCADD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor Preferred Qualifications: 8-11 years of structural bridge design experience Master's degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures 1-2 years of experience can be substituted for a Master's degree W
