JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for loading raw materials, unloading finished products, and performing quality control checks using various gauges and measuring instruments. Additionally, the operator is responsible for basic cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating of equipment to maintain optimal performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Machine Operation: Load raw materials into the machine and unload finished parts. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper function and quality output. Quality Control: Perform in-process inspections using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments. Verify dimensions and tolerances of finished parts against blueprints and technical drawings. Record and report any deviations or defects to the supervisor. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records and logs. Complete required documentation for quality control and production tracking. Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production status and issues. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ensure work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Previous experience using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings preferred. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles. Ability to work overtime as needed both daily and weekends. WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, noise and hazards such as electrical shock or gases. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above. What does Sheppard have to offer you?
