Experience: - 8+ Years

This is a Postgres/ role backup/restore, and maintenance of Postgres/Greenplum databases. Proven deep understanding of Greenplum technology, knowledge of Linux as Greenplum runs on Linux, and general operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of systems capacity, and networks, etc. Requires high level of technical expertise related to studying and analyzing IT system requirements for data base structures. Ongoing responsibility on a 24 X 7 basis for maintenance of database environments to include on-call duty rotation.

Required Skills and Years of Experience:
5+ years of experience with the following skillsets:
Experience with Postgres DBA role
Experience with Greenplum DBA role
Experience with troubleshooting database and performance issues
Experience with performance tuning of Postgres/Greenplum databases
Experience with Linux administration and Linux scripting.
Experience working in an Agile environment
3+ Years with the following skillsets:
Experience with Greenplum v6

Preferred Skills and Years of Experience:
Monitoring and optimization of the database performance and database replication
Database software upgrades and patching
Security configuration of the database and management of access and permissions to the databases
Modification of the database structure
Accountable for assessment of current technical infrastructure and provide performance monitoring of routines and tuning of tools
Report generation using database queries
Linux system administration
24x7 Weekend on-call rotational coverage

Analyze and resolve database performance issues, database capacity - 40%
Issues, replication/clone/restores, quarterly patching, database upgrades and other database issues
