Distribution Operations Manager

DescriptionAt the Lundberg Distribution Center and external warehouses, we keep a vast array of finished goods and raw materials to produce our products. Our Distribution Operations Manager leads and develops the Distribution Ops and Transportation team to support the future growth of the business. They are responsible for leading all day-to-day operations at the Lundberg Distribution Center, as well as overflow locations. This includes the safety and development of all partners, ensuring high quality service with our end customer and brand in mind, managing the Distribution Operations budget, inbound receiving, product flow through the DC, and outbound transportation activities. They will also be a key participant in cross-functional teams and projects to support innovation, cost optimization, system enhancements, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Provide Leadership - Set goals for the work group, develop organizational capability, and model how we work together. Apprise management of team progress toward departmental goals. Ensure effective and timely communication of company, plant, and departmental information to managers, peers, and own work team, including supervisors, leads, and warehouse personnel. Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. Develop Strategic Vision, Plan and Execute - Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, manage execution, and measure results. Own day-to-day business operations, ensuring orders are processed, picked, packed, and shipped accurately and efficiently within deadlines which involves managing schedules, assigning workloads, and optimizing processes for maximum productivity. Accountable for annual financial plan for Distribution Operations, creating strategy to deliver on the plan, and tracking performance to the plan.Deliver Operational Excellence - Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure team completes and stays current with associated necessary training. Champion continuous improvement by implementing new technologies, processes, and strategies to keep the distribution center running smoothly and adapting to changing demands. Develop Employees, Team Building, Plan for the Future - Provide employees with regular coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities, and annual performance reviews. Continuously focus on building effective teams and preparing Distribution Operations for future business needs.Requirements8 years of experience in distribution and related functions.5 years of experience developing and leading quality, customer service, and cost improvement programs in various fields or company environments.5 years of management experience, including the management of budgets.3 years of experience working in major food manufacturing or food distribution center.Comfortable with WMS, ERP, and Microsoft office tools.Analytical & problem-solving skills.Ability to assess operational data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.Familiarity with OSHA regulations, Labor & Wage Laws, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards.
