JOB TYPE:

Full-time, W2, 12-month contract with ongoing need, hybrid requirements
The main function of a research engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical research engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
Team is responsible for understanding customer requirements and converting this into engine performance and emissions control.
Create engine hardware and software calibration for developmental processes in NPI
Perform test operations - responsible for day-to-day running of tests, troubleshooting diesel engine issues.
Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
Responsible for analyzing data that is coming out of tests, making sure tests are ready, and in alignment with program goals for quality data analysis
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
5+ years of experience required.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS FOR Product Engineer:

Matlab, Tableau, Python and CANope are all desirable software skills
Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
Team player and detail oriented.
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
