Manager will be expected to work overtime to support the implementation of IT projects.
  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
    • The IT Manager of Physician Practice will provide leadership and direction in the ongoing development, implementation, and support structure of electronic health information systems as it relates to the delivery of patient care in the Practice and Ambulatory Services setting supported by physician practices encompassing Berkshire Health Systems employed physicians and Berkshire County private practice physicians. Responsibilities also include leadership and support for the ongoing maintenance of systems currently implemented and utilized within the physician practice and ambulatory services setting. This position must have a clear understanding of the health care industry as it relates to the day-to-day operations of a physician practice/ambulatory services and the subsequent processes within the hospital setting.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • A minimum of three years of health care management experience as it relates to physician practice operations/ambulatory services and Information Technology in a progressive health care industry
      • Working knowledge of physician practice/ambulatory services operations, applications and technologies
      • General knowledge of interfaces, servers and networking structure
      • Knowledge of ARRA Meaningful Use requirements
      • Demonstrated project management skills to participate in multiple complex projects simultaneously and manage tasks
      • Ability to design concepts and system functions in an understandable, logical and concise manner
      • Strong analytical, organizational skills and an ability to logically solve problems
      • Energy and enthusiasm necessary to motivate others toward change
      • Prior supervisory experience preferred
      • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills
      • Ability to be creative in making changes that result in improved efficiency and better communication through software program design
      • Demonstrated understanding of the need to involve others in change and to promote excellent communication with key stake holders
    • Education and Training:
      • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Health Care Administration, or health care related field required or an equivalent amount of related experience and education obtained that demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • None.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Some overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and in support of applications after hours.
