Our client, a Maritime systems engineering and maintenance company is looking to bring on a Naval Architect to their team. This position is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite based at the USCG HQ in Washington, DC. This individual will perform design review and assessment of structural viability for the USCG boat fleet.

Primary responsibilities are below: Perform engineering, design, and development of shipbuilding specifications, drawings, acquisition and program documents Perform evaluations of structural analysis to ensure compliance with government and industry standards Conduct hydrostatic calculations and assessments (weight estimates and stability assessments)

Must Have: Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine, Ocean, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 3 years of experience with vessel design, construction, and repair Working experience designing and analyzing marine structures/vessels

Plusses: Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine, Ocean, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
