Summary:

The Director, Operations and Automation provides strategic leadership and guidance for several Group 1001 IT functions and managing the staff who implement, maintain, operate and improve technology platforms and solutions for the entire company. Shared Services Operations includes ITSM/ticketing tools, change and configuration management, observability and monitoring, CICD Dev Tools, BC/DR Crisis Management and identity and access management.

Main Responsibilities:

Directing IT staff to identify, prioritize and manage high impact technical operational initiatives. Evaluating, recommending, and implementing new solutions and services to drive consistent, reliable, automated technology operations. Lead design, development and deployment of platform, system, and shared service/technology automation. Ensure shared service platform architecture and development aligns with strategic priorities and objectives with well-defined measurement criteria (OKR’s, KPI’s etc.) Establish and maintain standards and best practices for operational processes and technology platforms. Collaborate, build alignment, and develop strong relationships with technology, vendor, and business partners across the organization to identify and optimize shared service technologies, operations, and workflows. Creating and providing detailed frameworks and metrics to consistently measure operational health, optimization, and automation initiatives. Identify and drive areas of automation and optimization across the shared service and business technology stack. Conducting routine staff evaluations to ensure technical skills levels and knowledge meet company needs. Establishing staff development plans to ensure the recruitment and retention of highly skilled staff as well as the development and promotion of current staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. 10+ years of direct, technical experience required. 3+ years of people leading experience required. Comprehensive and broad knowledge of all aspects of IT solutions and services Experience with leading and managing technology operations, automation and development teams. Experience with managing external vendors and establishing contracts and statements of work. Excellent organization and time management skills; prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines. Outstanding customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership team members. Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership

Specific Technical Skills Preferred:

Experience with developing, implementing and overseeing operational processes and platforms directed at driving consistency, reliability, and automation. Deploying Office/Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure AD Environments along with skills needed to deploy advanced Microsoft 365 Services including Enterprise and Mobility and architect Office/Microsoft 365 Service Environments. Experience deploying and/or optimizing SDLC and CICD processes, tools and staff. Experience partnering with stakeholders to re-build/re-engineer process using best practice principles to drive operational consistency. Experience creating metrics and measures utilized to optimize service delivery and capitalize on identification and execution of automation opportunities. Constructed and deployed an IT service catalog through technology support data, metrics and analysis of critical business functions to align services offered/delivered to business impactful outcomes.

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
