Cable Engineer

You are dynamic and enthusiastic but also intrinsically motivated to work on the largest network technical infrastructure projects onshore in the Netherlands You are accustomed to or enjoy taking a bit more distance from the drawing board and working more in a reviewing and coordinating manner. A Cable Engineer is responsible for the technical design of the cable connection, from the basic design to the execution design. We work closely with external engineering parties for this. Additionally, we focus on standardization, innovation, and digitalization of the technology (our assets) within LPN. We collaborate closely with other departments. Being involved from the beginning to the end of the project, we build knowledge and ensure there are sufficient development opportunities within the engineering team in the projects.

As a Cable Engineer, your main responsibilities are: Providing technical input in tracing new cable connections. This involves contributing to the route of the new cable. (Supervising) monitoring/testing of cable engineering activities in accordance with the scope defined by the client and within the specified conditions; Directing and testing external engineering parties; Coordinating and monitoring technical interfaces between all parties and suppliers within a project. (Supervising) drafting technical specifications and work packages, monitoring technical compliance, and reviewing calculations, drawings, reports, and analyses from third parties; Ensuring quality, performance, and compliance with (inter)national standards and guidelines regarding cables/connections; Being the contact point and discussion partner for technical issues related to cables/connections. Job requirements

Requirements: You have sufficient substantive knowledge and experience in the field of high-voltage cables (preferably 150kV AC and 380kV AC), understanding the risks in the technical design. You preferably have experience with Cymcap. You have an electrical engineering background at bachelors. You are analytically strong and can take a helicopter view when it comes to technical issues. You are a proactive team player, communicatively skilled, professional, and able to work with different 'blood types' within a project.

Important: Currently, we are looking for a specific Cable Engineer with experience in the preparation phase (calculations and drafting tender documentation) of high-voltage cables (150 and 380kV), particularly with experience in CYMCAP calculations.
