Job Description:

McCloskey by OPIS is hiring an experienced individual to join our global editorial team as Associate Director, Ferroalloys. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop our global news coverage and price reporting services for Ferroalloys and its Feedstocks. You will be a critical part of our Steel and Steel Raw Materials group.

This is a senior position within the global editorial team that involves managing junior staff. You will also work alongside our industry-leading steel and steel raw materials research team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow our market presence and subscriber base.
  • Identify prices to launch and promote (including the specifications and methodology), with particular attention on the growing Indian Ferroalloys seaborne market.
  • Oversee the creation of daily, weekly and monthly market reports, price assessments and newswires.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including producers, traders and consumers of ferroalloys.
  • Engage in business development, assisting OPIS' account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for price reporting and market analysis.
  • Be a public face of McCloskey and OPIS in the Ferroalloys space, via client/partner engagements, industry presentations, media interviews, content marketing.
Required Skills
  • At least 10 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Substantial price reporting experience in Ferroalloys and related markets.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions (eg. moderating panels at conferences)
  • Bachelor's degree (in in a quantitative discipline preferred)
