Duties: Review policyholder operations to ensure proper classifications and NCCI Basic Manual Rules are applied for accurate premium determination and to note any underwriting, claims, or loss control issues.
Review policies to ensure legal entity information is correct, all policyholder locations are identified and special endorsements affecting the premium calculation are indicated; document and take corrective action where needed.
Review accuracy and validity of Certificates of Insurance and evaluate subcontractor operations and activities.
Prepare detailed work papers and written correspondence in support of audit findings.
Discuss issues and concerns with policyholders and/or their representative to ensure understanding of changes in premium and any audit exceptions.
Communicate to audit management any audit issues, concerns, or disputes of policyholder and/or their representative so the response and resolution may be achieved in a timely manner, which is essential in helping to retain competitive accounts.
Alert the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) and Audit Management of potential fraud situations.
Travel to locations where policyholder records are maintained, assess available records, and develop a plan for reviewing and summarizing audit findings.
Complete departmental tasks in support of unit operations.
Achieve employee SMART Goals.
Perform other duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of NCCI Basic Manual Rules and Classifications.
Knowledge of all aspects of workers' compensation (underwriting, claims, loss education, audit and finance).
Ability to learn custom software programs.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Four years of progressive Audit experience preferred.

Essential Functions:
Effectively perform examination of policyholders' operations and financial records.
Ability to work at a desk for extended periods of time, communicate via telephone, operate a computer, keyboard and mouse throughout the day.
Ability to lift 10lbs. or less.
