Job Role: AIX ADMIN

Required Skillsets:
  • L3 in AIX with extensive experience in handling both GUI & command line
  • Should know how NIM setup works in AIX.
  • Good to have hands-on on GPFS clusters.
  • Must have hands-on HACMP clusters & trouble shooting by reading cluster logs.
  • Must know AIX patching process either using alt disk install or multibos & also should know the troubleshooting steps during & post patching.
  • Good to have knowledge on AIX OS migration using nimadm process.
  • Need to know how to monitor the performance of AIX servers, to read the error codes, sys logs .
  • Should have hands-on AIX DR process (disaster recovery) & DLPAR operations using HMC console.
  • Creation and administration of new AIX environments & users as per business requirements
  • Developer, administrator, application super user support
  • Conducts upgrades, patching and preventative maintenance for all AIX operating environments.
  • Performance monitoring for all AIX Unix environments
  • Understanding the build of AIX server as per project sizing and capacity understanding.
  • Supporting all JPMC AIX OS
  • Configuring, tuning, troubleshooting AIX VMs.
  • PowerHA and GPFS engineering
  • AIX on cloud is a plus.
  • Hands on Experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of AIX environment.
  • Good understanding of HA and DRS environment.
  • Operational support with flexibility for 24x7 support
  • AIX Enterprise Edition administration, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patching
Activities:
  • Capacity management
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute AIX OS and firmware maintenance.
  • Firmware upgrades and install AIX OS patches.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Training/certification is a plus.
  • Linux Server basic admin knowledge would be added advantage.
  • Participate & run recovery drills once every quarter and restore it back to the production site which will include building backup server and restoring data.
  • Report any hardware issue on AIX; coordinate any support/hardware issues.
  • Run capacity planning report to understand the growth and make sure additional hardware is requested on time.
  • Provide suggestions to increase security by bringing in additional software/hardware.
  • Provides support for backup/restore infrastructure and applications.
  • Provide AIX support and ensure maximum performance and uptime for all AIX servers.
  • Coordinate and support deployment of all AIX supporting s/wand application related software upgrades.
  • Maintain Infrastructure software- GPFS, PowerHA, AIX- 6.X and above, VIOS, PowerVM.
  • Support day to day calls on AIX/servers/VIO servers' issues, manage VIO and hardware management console.
