Our staff combines practical know-how with leading-edge research to deliver timely, innovative, and focused solutions to environmental challenges.The Proposal Specialist will be responsible for leading and guiding pursuit teams, designing and producing high-quality, client-focused, and persuasive proposals, working with a variety of market sectors across all GSIs services and offices. This position requires superior writing and editing skills, strong interpersonal and project management skills, the ability to work independently and coordinate multiple stakeholders and contributors, including collaborating with senior management on pursuits and the management of multiple concurrent deadlines. This person will also have a primary role in the development of SOQs (Statement of Qualifications) and Q&E (Qualifications & Experience) packages to support business growth.A TYPICAL WEEK MIGHT INCLUDE:Planning, developing, and producing SOQs, Q&Es, and Proposals in response to public and private sector Request for Proposals / Quotes (RFPs / RFQs)Leading the writing, editing, and formatting of proposals, SOQs, Q&Es, and proposal presentationsCollaborating with senior technical leaders to build proposal project teams and to identify pertinent qualifications and experience (i.e., proposed staffing and project experience)Working with technical teams to prepare for proposal-related interviews, including presentation content development and participation in mock interview/practice sessionsCoordinating with other consultant firms on teaming arrangements, facilitating joint lunch-and-learn webinars to showcase expertise and experience, and collecting and organizing relevant marketing materials from teaming partnersScreening new opportunities and conducting Go/No Go meetings to assess new proposal, bid, or SOQ opportunitiesServing as the firms primary point of contact for the US Federal Contractor Registrations System for Award Management (SAM) System, responsible for maintaining firm registration, compliance reporting, Reps & Certs, RFQs, etc.Serving as a subject matter expert on contracting with the US Federal Government, State and Local Municipalities or Districts, as well as private industryAssisting senior practitioners in the firm with identifying proposal opportunities, executing proposals, and following up on proposal resultsParticipating in team meetings to support business development and other marketing projectsAssisting our Marketing Team with developing, organizing, updating, and formatting marketing collateral materials directly related to project pursuits (i.e., technical staff resumes, market, project descriptions, current and pending support forms, etc.)Editing materials for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, style, and qualityQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing or related discipline preferred (also open to applicants with a Science or Engineering degree, with relevant on-the-job experience in business, marketing, and proposal writing)10+ years of related and proven professional experience (including RFP/RFQ evaluation, proposal development, proposal writing, and proposal coordination)Superior writing, editing, formatting, and grammar skills, with knowledge of common writing styles and experience in messaging for proposals to create persuasive copyAdvanced skills in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat, and proficiency in MS PowerPointProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator),Pro-active self-starter who enjoys helping others, with outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsDetail-oriented, strong time-management and organizational skillsExperience in the A/E/C industry and/or experience in environmental services strongly preferred.All candidates must provide three proposal samples to be considered for this position.
