Job Title: Welder Helper

Job Description

Large steel fabricator of vessels and heat exchangers has an immediate opening for a welder helper. The role involves supporting welders and fitters by performing tasks such as grinding, cleaning shavings, moving material, and prepping for hydro testing. Responsibilities include any and all general tasks needed. Welding will not be a part of the job initially but may be in the future.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 600 Hour(s).
Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Houston, Texas.
Work Environment

Medium-sized vessel shop. Non-A/C, open-air shop environment. Work involves large vessels and heat exchangers, with a strong emphasis on safety. Team environment with around 20 employees on the day shift and 8 employees on the night shift. Standard safety gear includes steel toes, jeans, work shirt, safety glasses, and a hard hat. Day shift runs from Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with potential Saturday shifts. Typical workweek includes 49 hours, increasing to 58 hours as work picks up.
