Senior DevOps Engineer

Our team is a "stream-aligned" team. We are aligned with well-defined value streams which are critical to the business. We will also have end-to-end responsibilities for building, deploying, running, and supporting our products.
While stream aligned teams should always be as self-sufficient as possible, there will always be reliance on external teams to some degree. Any interactions with and reliance on external teams would be primarily focused on reducing our teams cognitive load so that we can focus on our deliverables.
What you'll do
Work with developers to create modern build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps.
Work with developers on infrastructure as code for services on AWS and other platforms.
Work with helm charts to deploy applications and Kubernetes objects to our clusters.
Job requirements

Must

have

experience

in building both front and backend web applications using multi stage Docker builds.
Must

have

experience

with creating and running Docker compose on local machines for testing purposes and proof of concepts.
Must

have

experience

in running unit tests in pipelines using frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit or MSUnit, Cypress or Jest.
Must

have a working

knowledge

of Microservices design.
Must

have an

understanding

of how REST API's are structured and work.
Must

have an

understanding

of networking concepts such as DNS, CDNs, Application Gateways, Network load balancers and Application load balancers .
Must

have

experience

with Git repositories.
Must

have

experience

working with Kubernetes, both setting up clusters and creating K8 objects to run applications.
Must

have

experience

with using Helm charts to deploy K8 objects and applications.
Must

understand the value of application metrics, traces and event logs and have experience utilizing them to improve performance and troubleshoot issues.
Must

have

experience

writing scripts with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
Could

have some

experience

in writing front end and / or backend applications.
Could

have

experience

with streaming technologies such as Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
